Sleeping in the water: NJROTC's Overnight in a Submarine- On Sunday November 1st, 23 NJROTC cadets went to Two Rivers Wisconsin to the Coast Guard Base.  The Cadets were given a tour of the base and got to meet the current Crew on duty.  The cadets also received a Sea Cruise Participation by taking a ride on the Coast Guards Response Boat.  Almost each cadet was able to have a turn driving the 45ft boat.  After visiting the Base the cadets made their way to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  There they stayed the night in the USS COBIA a WW11 submarine.  The cadet were given the history of the COBIA and a Tour.  In the morning the Cadets were then allowed to go into the museum and look around.  "It was an awesome trip" says one NJROTC cadet.

AMI (Annual Military Inspection)=  AMI is the largest and most important inspection our unit will have each year.  The inspection runs like every other inspection our unit holds except the inspector is a Military guest.  Each cadet is inspected in formation.  Cadets are graded on uniform appearance, bearing, and general knowledge.  The top ten most outstanding cadets will be awarded with an Exemplary Appearance medal.  Cadets must also demonstrate military drill within their platoons.  This inspection is open to the public and all parents are invited.

*This year for AMI we have a special guest Commander Clifford the Area Three Manager and the Great Lakes Navy Band will be performing for us.*

UNIFORM CHANGE = October 5th, 2009 the United States Navy is switching from Summer Blue to Winter Blue, meaning ; all cadets must have and be in Winter Blue uniform by Wednesday October 7th, 2009.
